Brock Whittenberger
Brock Whittenberger can often be found wading through rivers in Montana with a fly rod. The avid angler and outdoorsman got involved with MCV after Mary McNally, current co-chair of the Yellowstone Chapter, encouraged him to become a member. He closely follows all the materials MCV sends him and favors candidates who are pro-conservation.
Brock was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and attended Amherst College in Massachusetts and Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. He and his wife, Kathleen, and their four children moved into Montana in 1992 to take a position at Deaconess Billings Clinic. If you ask Brock the real reason for the move, however, he responds without any qualms that it was to chase the big fish.
Brock is also a member of Trout Unlimited and Pheasants Forever and is very interested in ways to maintain good stream access and compromise modern needs with wild environments. The Whittenberger household has recently taken steps to reduce its carbon footprint after harassment from their daughter and in-house MCV intern. Brock is all for these changes and any activity that preserves his favorite place in the world.
