What the Supreme Court Citizen United Decision Means to Montana
Don’t miss this panel, to learn about the January, 2010 U.S. Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v Federal Elections Commission, which struck down a decades’ long prohibition on corporate spending to elect federal candidates through independent expenditures. Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock filed a friend of the court brief in this case.Moderated by MCV Executive Director Theresa Keaveny, the panel features
- Anthony Johnstone, Solicitor, Montana Department of Justice
- Denise Roth Barber, Research Director, National Institute on Money in State Politics
- Rep. Kendall Van Dyk, Billings
- Jeanne-Marie Souvigney, consultant with Montana Conservation Voters
