Help Montana Take Action On Global Warming: EQC On-Line Survey

3/12/08 UPDATE:  EQC has posted the results from its Climate Change Advisory Council's survey online: http://leg.mt.gov/css/lepo/2007_2008/default.asp

MONTANA ACTION ON CLIMATE
WE MUST ACT NOW TO PREVENT THE WORST EFFECTS OF
GLOBAL WARMING FROM OCCURRING.

A citizen advisory committee, created by Governor Schweitzer and
Department of Environmental Quality Director Opper, has prepared a climate change action plan that calls for Montana to reduce our emissions of global warming pollution to 1990 levels by 2020.

The plan recommends 54 specific measures to reduce Montana’s
contribution to global warming.

Putting these recommendations into effect is not only the responsible thing to do but it is smart. If all 54 measures were fully implemented, the plan estimates that we would save $66 million over the next 12 years.

Now the Environmental Quality Council is asking the public for its views on the recommendations. Please support the recommendations in order to build public support for action on global warming.  NOTE: Comments Due by February 29th!
