Senators Baucus & Tester standing strong for Global Warming solutions and Clean Energy
Senator Max Baucus and Senator Jon Tester deserve a big note of thanks from conservation voters across the Treasure state.
Faced with tough votes (industry had been lobbying pretty hard on both of them to do the wrong thing) to end the Republican filibuster on the Climate Security Act - both senators chose the responsible conservation vote last Friday (6/6). Unfortunately, the Act didn't get the chance for meaningful debate - the vote definitely sets the stage for what may be a more politically favorable Congress next session.
Today's (6/10) two efforts to roll back massive tax subsidies for Big Oil and re-invest in renewable energy tax credits both went down in the face of massive Republican opposition. Our Senators both chose the pro-environment votes.
