Important municipal races are fast approaching! Read more about MCV's endoresment process and how you can get involved.
With important city races in your community just around the corner, it’s time to start interviewing and endorsing candidates!
“Endorsing” means that a candidate for city commission or city council is given a Montana Conservation Voters “stamp of approval”. The endorsed candidate has confirmed their commitment to our conservation priorities in a questionnaire, an interview, and through their record. We let our members and the general public know about who we’ve endorsed, and work hard to help elect them to office.
As a member of MCV, you are given the unique opportunity to serve on an endorsement committee. Five or so MCV members come together to interview each city candidate who returns a questionnaire we have sent them regarding conservation and the environment. You make the recommendation to the Board, and they rely on your thoughts about the interview, insight about the race and candidate(s), and whether you believe the candidate(s) should be given our endorsement.
We need your help. Interviews will begin as early as next week, so contact the staff person in your community if you are interested in participating!
