Willis Curdy for HD100
Willis is a conservation-minded Democrat that convinced MCV he was more than adequately prepared for the job of squaring off against Republican Rep. Bill Nooney of Missoula in a swing district that lies west of Missoula.
Curdy is retired with 30 years of experience as a high school teacher. He’s been a Bitterroot Hotshot and a Missoula Smokejumper in the summer and he’s also been a USFS pilot (6 years). He has served as trustee for the Missoula Rural Fire District for 4 years and also as a trustee for Big Flat Irrigation District for 6 years.
“I have lived and worked with the voters of House District 100 and I know they are ready for a change,” Curdy said when he jumped into the race after Gary Brown withdrew from the race due to health problems. “We need a representative who focuses on the issues that matter - affordable energy and health care, quality education and a strong local economy.”
Willis has good conservation credentials, and would be wonderful successor to Rep. Nooney, an oilman, who scored a disappointing 15% in his first term.
