Mark Holston for SD3
Mark Holston has lived in Flathead County for over 60 years and is a long time MCV member running for office in the western portions of Flathead County, for a seat vacated by Sen. Jerry O'Neill (term-limited). He has served as campaign chair of annual United Way fund drive and is an elected member of Flathead Valley Community College Board of Trustees.
Holston is a conservation leader, and has experience as the Director of the quasi-governmental water quality watchdog group, the Flathead Basin Commission. He was a television anchorman in Kalispell for two decades, and is an active musician.
His opponent is gravel pit magnate Bruce Tutvedt (R), who is building an unpopular and allegedly dangerous new pit in the district. Tutvedt is backed by the anti-environmental activists.
