Co-Endorsement: Ryan Zinke for SD2

This seat is in the northern portions of Flathead County, including Whitefish, Columbia Falls, West Glacier and Polebridge. 

Incumbent Senator Dan Weinberg (D) was elected in 2004 with MCV's help, but decided not to run for a second term for office, though he earned 100% MCV score in 2005 and 2007. 

Ryan Zinke is a political newcomer with strong conservation values, and has been co-endorsed by MCV along with his Democratic opponent Brittany MacLean.

Ryan is a native Whitefish resident and has a BS in Geology from University of Oregon in 1984, a MBA in Finance from National University in 1991 and a MS in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego in 2004. 

Zinke is a Navy Seal veteran, and was a commander.  He considers himself a conservationist, and is a member of the Nature Conservancy (from 1988 to present),  Flathead Trout Unlimited, the Rotary Club, and was founder and president of the Great Northern Veterans Peace Park.
