Deb Essen lives in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley with her husband, Marty. Deb grew up on a farm where she learned first hand about hard work and conservation. Now, she and Marty successfully own and operate a their own business. Conservation issues are central to Deb's campaign and her involvement in public life. As a member of the Montana Economic Developers Association, she helped bring diverse interests together to talk about growth, development and the future of planning in Ravalli County. She is an active member of various conservation groups, including the Montana Conservation Voters, and will stand up for access to public land, and our clean air and water. Deb Essen is challenging incumbent Rick Laible, who earned a 25% on the 2005 MCV Legislative Scorecard, after scoring 0% in 2001 and 6% in 2003.
