In the 2005 city elections, MCV helped shift the Whitefish, Missoula, Helena and Bozeman city councils towards a conservation majority, and also helped make conservation gains on the city councils in Billings and Kalispell.
In this fall’s municipal elections, MCV again hopes to encourage voter turnout on behalf of candidates who support responsible growth policies and protection of public health, air and water quality, open space and Montanan’s deeply-held outdoor values.
This voter guide gives you a look at who MCV has endorsed in the 2007 municipal races. Endorsements this year were completed in areas where MCV chapters are working with the conservation community locally to advance priorities with city officials, and hold those officials accountable. The voter guide shares how you can help elect these candidates.
