WHAT:  Billings Area Conservation Roundtable - A series of community conversations about the state of the environment in Yellowstone County.  The event is free and open to the public.

WHO:  Featured guest speaker Mary Fitzpatrick will speak on the findings and recommendations of the Governor’s Climate Change Advisory Committee.  Fitzpatrick served on the Climate Change Advisory Committee, which has met over the last 18 months to develop strategies for state and local governments to reduce carbon emissions and conserve energy. Her talk conicides with an upcoming Environmental Quality Council meeting at which the Climate Change Advisory Committee’s recommendations will be discussed.  The report can be downloaded from www.mtclimatechange.us/CCAC.cfm

Mary is a former Chairperson of the Northern Plains Resource Council. During her time on the Board, Northern Plains launched  “Home on the Range”, the renovated building they share with the Western Organiation of Resource Councils.  This building is the only one in Montana with a platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council's prestigious Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design program.  Nationally, fewer than fifty building have this certification.

Mary is a licensed mental health and addictions counselor in private practice; she also has a B.S. in Physics.
