League of Conservation Voters to Release 2008 National Environmental Scorecard on October 17
LCV joins Montana Conservation Voters for teleconference to discuss Montana delegation

The League of Conservation Voters is releasing its 2008 National Environmental Scorecard this Friday, October 17th. The annual, non-partisan scorecard is the nationally accepted yardstick used to gauge how members of Congress voted on key energy and environmental issues.

To discuss the voting records of the members of the Montana delegation in 2008, LCV Press Secretary Joshua McNeil will join Montana Conservation Voters Executive Director Theresa Keaveny for a telephone press conference on October 17th at 11am MDT.

"Over the summer, two sides in Congress waged one of the most dramatic legislative battles in recent history over America's energy future," LCV President Gene Karpinski said.  "As gas prices soared, some in Congress sought to invest in clean energy and energy efficiency while others, backed by millions of dollars from the oil industry, fought a successful fight to defend the record profits of Big Oil.  The 2008 Scorecard gives you a chance to see beyond the speeches and to look at what Montana's representatives really stand for."
