Helena, Montana...With the state legislature just past its half way mark, Montana Conservation Voters (MCV) announces its 10th Anniversary Celebration and Annual Meeting on Friday, March 13thThis year's theme, "10 Year's Strong" highlights the group's work to protect Montana's clean air and water and conservation traditions through involvement in government and elections. 

Montana Conservation Voters' annual meeting has become a key political gathering for public officials, candidates and conservationists.   The event features a 10 year retrospective of the group's work since it began in 1999, and will honor its founders. MCV's "Conservation Champion" award winner will be announced. Legislators and statewide elected officials will also be present at the popular social. 

"Our annual meeting offers a unique opportunity to talk to legislators and elected officials about their solutions to repower, refuel and reinvest in Montana through renewable energy and energy efficiencies," said Theresa Keaveny, MCV's Executive Director.  "It's also a time to discuss the bills that give away, to industrial and out of state corporations, Montanans' time honored public right to take part in permitting decisions of plants, powerlines and pipelines in our communities, farms, and ranches," she said. 

MCV's annual meeting offers a great selection of refreshments, music by the band formerly known as the Never Land Ranch Hands, and a silent auction of made in Montana items, raft trips, weekend get aways, artwork and more.

All proceeds will support MCV's grassroots work in the 2009  legislature.
