(Washington, D.C.) - The Clean Energy Works campaign, in association with several of its partner organizations, today launched a major television ad campaign targeting members of the House of Representatives in six states-Missouri, Nebraska, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Montana. The new 30-second TV spot, "Stain," highlights the cash from Big Oil and other special interests taken by Members who voted against the American Clean Energy & Security Act, a comprehensive clean energy and climate plan that will put America back in control of our economy, our security, and the future of our planet.

The partner groups participating in the campaign are Bold Nebraska, the League of Conservation Voters, Montana Conservation Voters, Republicans for Environmental Protection, and Sierra Club.

"We think it is important to remind people in these states that while Big Oil and other special interests were raking in billions in profits, they turned around and spent tens of millions lobbying Congress to protect those profits and kill clean energy jobs," said Josh Dorner, Clean Energy Works spokesman. "But these special interests didn't stop there and also spent millions more doling out political contributions. People in these districts ought to ask why their Members of Congress voted against clean energy jobs, against decreasing our dependence on oil, and against our national security in order to bailout corporate polluters like ExxonMobil."
