Yellowstone River Symposium

08/20/2010

Greetings --

You’re invited to the Yellowstone River Conservation District Council’s event of the year!

Please follow this link to your invitation and registration form for the Yellowstone River Symposium on August 19 and 20, 2010 in Billings, Montana.  The theme of the symposium is the Yellowstone River in the 21st Century – Planning for a Sustainable Future.  The symposium will bring together scientists working on the Yellowstone River cumulative effects study, international experts, and local, state and regional authorities on river management to provide insight and perspective into the longest free-flowing river in the lower 48 states!

We’ve got a great line-up of events and speakers including Fred Pearce, London-based freelance journalist and author of “When the Rivers Run Dry” and “With Speed and Violence: Why scientists fear tipping points in climate change” as well as Dr. Larry Lahren, owner of Livingston-based Anthro Research, and author of “Homeland: An archaeologist’s view of Yellowstone Country’s Past” and Dr. Susan Gilbertz, Director of Environmental Studies at Montana State University – Billings.

Come and cultivate working relationships with local watershed groups and others who are dedicated to natural resource issues in the Yellowstone River basin, gather information about the past, present and future of the mighty Yellowstone River, and take an active role in shaping the future course of this globally-important resource!

Seating is limited, so plan now to attend!

Best regards,

Nicole ~.~
